Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (March 2014) – The Sands at Grace Bay is honored to announce hospitality awards and employee recognition received at The Turks & Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association’s sixth Annual Star Awards ceremony, held on February 27th at the Regent Palms Turks & Caicos. During this annual hospitality and tourism award event The Sands at Grace Bay’s Mona Beeson, General Manager, was named the “Hotelier of the Year” and Delroy McIntosh, Pool and Beach Attendant, received the “Ambassador of the Year” award.
Additionally, the following Sands at Grace Bay staff members received “Certificates of Recognition” for receiving nominations in the following Star Award categories: Housekeeper of the Year nominee, Vroseline Pierre; Bartender of the Year nominee, Wesley Joseph; Manager of the Year nominee, Sheena Smith; and Employee of the Year nominee, Ri-Ann Sutton. The Sands at Grace Bay also received overall resort recognition for its “Hotel of the Year” nomination.
The “Hotelier of the Year” award, received by Mona Beeson, recognizes excellence in hotel operations by demonstrating superior achievement in resort operations, food & beverage, marketing & sales, resort maintenance, staff training and motivation, innovative management, environmental practices, community affairs, and involvement with national and regional industry associations. The “Ambassador of the Year” award, received by Delroy McIntosh, is given to those who go above and beyond the call of duty by greeting guests with a smile and whose helpful actions and good deeds best represent the resort and the Turks and Caicos Islands tourism industry.
